The Barley Charity Foundation says it has begun its annual Ramadan initiative, providing iftar meals to community members at the Egbe Central Mosque.
According to a statement, over the next 30 days, the foundation aims to feed between 300 and 500 people daily.
BCF said the initiative aimed to ensure that those in need have access to essential sustenance during the fasting.
Speaking at the launch, BCF’s founder, Adeshola Ojo, expressed optimism that the programme would ensure that everyone has access to a nourishing meal to break their fast during the holy month.

“Today’s meal served approximately 350 people, creating awareness, and encouraging participation for the remaining days of Ramadan. The diverse crowd included both young and old, individuals from all walks of life coming together in the spirit of community and shared faith.”
Established in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation has undertaken numerous initiatives over the years.
These efforts span providing palliative support to community members during the pandemic and helping the less privileged in society.
According to the foundation, in the public relations domain, Lead Partner, CMC Connect, Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, would serve as the mentor, guiding Jesutofunmi Akinde, a public relations and communications executive, as the mentee, while the Chief of Staff at HerVest, Ayobami Awode, would receive mentorship on the business front.
“Finally, in the public service sphere, Mrs Abidakun Olubusola will share her expertise as the mentor, mentoring Orifunke Lawal. This diverse set of mentor-mentee pairs ensures a well-rounded experience for participants across various professional fields,” the statement said.
